Pollard, Sr. & Ella Mae Black-Pollard Martial Status: Joined in Holy Matrimony to Annie Pearl Swift, and to this union were two (2) sons, Ronnie and Curtis Pollard, Sr. Employment: Thirty years at BellSouth/Southern Bell; twenty-plus years as a retired Superior Referee with FHSAA, CFOA, SEC; and 3years with ACC. Organizations: Affiliations with: USBC, Touchdown Club, Davis Lodge #47, Chapter # 17; Foster Grand- parent at local OCPS; Seniors on the Move, Faithful member of Usher Board #1, and First Thursday Club. Education: Graduated in 1962 from Phyllis Wheatley High School, he served his tour of duty in the United States Army, PVTE1SP4 from September 23,1965 - Honorable discharged September 21, 1971. Date of Demise: November 05, 2024, peacefully at home with family. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 56 years, Annie Pearl Swift Pollard; His eldest great-grandchild, Shyde Orr; Parents: Prince E. Pollard, Sr., and Ella Mae Black Pollard; Father and Mother-in love: Norell and Gussie Mae Baker Swift; Brothers: John Pollard, Sr. and Charles Pollard. He leaves to cherish his memories: 2 Sons: Ronnie Pollard and Curtis Pollard, Sr.; 6 loving Grandchildren: Princess Pollard, Tiree Pollard, Armoni Pollard, Norell Pollard, Curtis Pollard, Jr., and Tiya Pollard; 5 Great-grands; 3 Siblings; and a host of family members and friends. Prince was not just a pillar of the community, he was a philanthropist, a family man, an Army Veteran, and a kindred-hearted spirit. A radiant of hope and light. Someone who will forever be in our hearts and cherished. All those privileged to have known him, whether city, state, or nationwide, can attest to the fact that he was not only a likable person but an appealing charmer. Always smiling, he was defined by his name, A true Prince! He created a foundation not just with family, but with many others to showcase what a true loving person looks like. With his personality and skills, he was involved in a variety of clubs, organizations, and associations. He was very active in projects to better his community by creating a space for all to enjoy. However, it was serving as an official on the basketball court, softball, and football fields that fulfilled his dreams. He was at home on the sports field. His networking with local community leaders to make changes for a community he loved so dear, was important to him, and lastly, simply being involved with the vast number of activities that weren’t just for fun but to help others expand where he lives. He was an active participant in all the Panther’s Pride Class Reunions (Graduates of the Historic Phyllis Wheatley High School). The Class of ’62 and proud of it! He has a plethora of plaques, certificates, and many honorary awards presented to him in formal ceremonies. Just to name a few: he was a Hall of Famer in the SEC, CFOA and FHSAA. Other countless accolades of Community Activism and Mentorship plastered around his home. He volunteered as a “Foster Grandparent” in schools where neither of his grandchildren attended. With so many acronyms to describe this beautiful person, He was the epitome of a man who didn’t just “understand the assignment” but “overstood” it! He strived to fulfill the purpose God intended for him on earth. He was more than commendable with his unselfish devotion to the community, he impacted so many lives in his 79 years. Although God called him home to rest and reward, he has gained his wings in the most eminent way. R.I.H., Prince E. Pollard, Jr., you are already missed!
