Mrs. Peggy Ann Hicks Brinson

Peggy Ann Hicks Brinson was born in Camphill, Alabama to William Bruce Hicks (deceased) and her loving mother, Dennie Mable Hicks. She was the 7th child of Dennie M. Hicks and 12th child of her father William Bruce Hicks. She attended Edward Bell High School until 1970 when the family relocated to Apopka Florida. She attended Apopka Middle School and graduated in 1977 from Apopka High School. After high school she headed off to Bethune Cookman College (now University) where she received her Bachelors in Business Administration. Following College, Peggy obtained a job with the Florida Department of Children and Families where she worked until she retired due to health reasons in 2017. In addition to working with families and children on her job, she used her knowledge and resources to help her family, friends and those in the community who were in need. Her true gifts were helping others and inspiring young people to be the best that they could be. She gave her life to Christ at a very young age and was a faithful member of the Center of Faith Church Apopka, FL under the leadership of Pastor James Hicks and Pastor Alice Hicks until God saw fit to retire her from her labor. Peggy was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband- Calvin Brinson (Orlando, FL); two children Tiffany Cartwright, Brandon Cartwright (Orlando, FL) and four step daughters- Monica Cartwright (Atlanta, GA); Valarie Brinson, Rachel Brinson, and Toni Brinson (Augusta, GA) four grandchildren- Bryan Bradley, Lyric King (Orlando, FL); Kailynn Cartwright (St. Pete, FL) and Brandon Cartwright, Jr (Apopka, FL); two step grandchildren- Keziah Brinson & Malachi Brinson (Augusta, GA); mother- Dennie M. Hicks (Apopka, FL); four brothers-Tommie Hicks (Rose) (Apopka, FL); James Hicks (Rochester, NY); Melvin Hicks (Orlando, FL) & Lyndon Hicks (Winter Garden, FL); twelve sisters- Annie Newsome, Brucie Hicks,Margaret Robinson, Elizabeth Sims (Jimmy), Betty Gordon (Maurice), Edith Hicks, Elaine Hicks & Mildred Hicks (all of Apopka, FL); Bernice Lewis (Orlando, FL); Linda Avery, Faye Seroyer, & Mary Brown (Camp Hill, Al); extended family sister Rochelle Marshall-Womble (Chattanooga, TN); brother-in-law(s) Alex Brinson (Bobbie), Morton Brinson (Sabrina) (Atlanta, GA); sister-in-law(s)- Florence Brinson (Jacksonville, FL), Francine Brinson-Morris (Savannah , GA); one aunt- Myra Hicks(Camphill, Al) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special Mention– Brandon Bridges & Brandon Merriweather (like sons).
