She was converted at an early age in the Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Marietta Williams and Pastor Minnie L. Reddick until they went home to be with the Lord. She continued to serve faithfully at Open Door Sanctuary of Praise, under the leadership of Pastor Minnie L. Johnson Smith. Mother Pearl was known for cooking favorite dishes like corn pudding, brown rice, sweet potato pies, and many other wonderful dishes. She also collected an array of roosters and elephants. Her passion was helping people, especially children of the neighborhood throughout Zellwood and beyond. She shared her gift with many around Central Florida. Mother was a member of the Zellwood Golden Agers Club and had a gift to read and recite poetry. One of her most favorite quotes by Quincy Jones is... “Once a task has begun never leave until it’s done, be a labor great or small, do it well or not at all." On April 23, 2023, God called Mother Pearl from her earthly labor to eternal rest. Pearl was preceded by death her Mother, Ola Mae Bush; Father, Elijah Bush; her Husband, James Mason; her Daughter, Beatrice Bush; Son, Horace L. Mason; Grandson, Leon Mason, Siblings: Minnie Lee Reddick, Mattie Mae Walker, Leatha Bush, Carrie Ward, Reverend J. H. Bush, Robert Lee Bush, Frank Bush, Eugene Hopkins, Sr., and Rudolph Hopkins, Sr. Mother Pearl L. Mason leaves to cherish loving memories; her Son, Eugene Mason {Joan}; Special Daughters, Pat Reddick-Linton {Fairbank}, Cheradin Bridgewater, and Catherine Giles; Grandchildren: Debra Floyd {Chauncey} Eugene Mason, Jr., Darlene Gray {La Fonda}, Michelle Marshall, Tameka Mays {William}, Horace Mason, Jr. {Veronica}, Christel Mason, Karla Clinton, Corey Butler, and Marcus Bridgewater {Dana}; Great Grandchildren {40}, Great-Great Grandchildren {21}, Great-GreatGreat Grandchild {1}; Sisters: Geneva Freeman and Lottie Mae Ruth; Sisters-in-law, Theresa Bush and Mildred Bush; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a community {international} of loving friends.
