Reflections of Life To everything, there is a season and a time to every under the heavens” ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1 “A Legacy of Love and Devotion” A Time to be Born… Pastor Mims Rouse, Sr. was born February 4, 1947 in Boynton Beach, Florida to Thomas Jones and Estella “Stella” Rouse. Mims was raised by his grandmother Katherine until the age of four. Afterwards, he relocated to Apopka, Florida to live with his mother, step-father (Julius Strong) and great aunt (Mattie Mobley). A Time to be Educated… Pastor Rouse graduated from Phyllis Wheatley in 1966 and was drafted into the army in November of 1966. A Time to Love… Pastor Rouse married the love of his life, Precious Lavon on December 23, 1969. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. A Time to Serve… Pastor Rouse became a born-again Christian in November of 1971. He was a powerful man of God and loved the Lord with all of his heart. After being a faithful member and Deacon of Temple of Faith Church for over 48 years, in 2015, he became its pastor and carried the mantle for 5 years before being called home to be with the Lord. A Time to Rest… The Lord in His infinite wisdom called Pastor Rouse home to rest on Monday, January 27, 2020. We know in our hearts, that although absent from the body, he is indeed present with the Lord. Left to cherish his memory and continue in his legacy of living for Christ, are the love of his life, Precious Patterson Rouse; sons: Curtis L. Rouse, Sr. (Sharon), Eric Rouse, Sr. (Belinda), Derrick Rouse, Sr. (Hatisha) and Mims Rouse, Jr.; daughters: Keita M. Rouse and Bettye T. Rouse; grandsons: Curtis Rouse, Jr., Derrick Rouse, Jr. (Christina), Kevin Green, III, Jeremy Rouse (Sasha), Jacord K. Rouse, Keron Rouse, Sr. (Ashia), Dominique Rouse, Reginald E. Oliver, Sr. and Eric Rouse, Jr.; granddaughters: VaQuoda D. Bradford, Courtney S. Preston, Jasmine L. Rouse, Ashley R. Rouse, Meghan L. Williams, Eriel T. Rouse and Diamond Martin; great-grandsons: Micah Jones, Jordan Rouse, Keron Rouse, Jr. Brayden Jones, Deshawn Rouse, Kyrin Rouse, Kaden Rouse, Dallas Rouse, Jalel Rouse, Amir Green, Vasilias Green, Reginald Oliver, Jr., Dehryian Mannie, Jahvari Rouse, and Jah’siah Fisher; great-granddaughters: Khylan Rouse, Surai Rouse, London Williams, Champion Bradford, Jalayiah Williams, Ava Green, Amari Tarver and Estelle Rouse; brother: Curtis Massey; sisters: Rosalene Nivens, Connie Jones and Patricia Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, the Temple of Faith church family and friends.
