Michael attended Clarkson primary school at a young age, then to Cedric Titus and later on transferred to Clarendon College because of his athletic ability, after migrating to America he finished High School in Canarsie and later on went on to attend Howard University where he received a soccer scholarship. Michael was a gifted athlete, with a combination of hard work and natural talent, excelled in track and field, and soccer. Proverbs 18:16-17 New King James Version (NKJV) “A man's gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men”, For Michael this was true in every sense. Not only did his athleticism bring him to different states, countries, and various arenas' but it also opened doors for him in the professional world as well. Among his other accomplishments, he was able secure roles such as Shepherd University's women's assistant soccer coach, Howard University men's assistant soccer coach and eventually Howard University Men’s Soccer team head coach, and Assistant Athletic Director of DC Scores soccer camp. In the early morning of February 20th 2024, in his matchless wisdom, God saw it fit to call Michael home and give him relief from his earthly troubles. His early departure has left his loved ones with an empty space and a void that will never be filled, because it is the result of a life that was taken from us unexpectedly and seemingly too soon. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents Dilda Josephine Lawrence, Beresford Lawrence (fathers parents), Merona Hemmings, Altiman Hemming (mothers parents). Delroy Lawrence, Leroy Lawrence, Mark Hemmings and Alton Hemming aka Balley (uncles), and Patricia Hemmings (Aunt). Michael has left two children to carry on his legacy, Chiamara Lawrence (daughter) and Micheal Lawrence Jr (son), Violet Hemmings (mother) and Roy Lawrence (father). Alicia and Alanis Lawrence (sisters). Duane, Alwayne, and Liam Lawrence- Hartley Hay (brothers). Norma Moulton and Valsie Hemmings (Aunt’s), Keisha, Jenele, Sanjay, Marvin, Latoya, Kemora, Loretta, and Lenroy (cousins).Deloris Brown, Alvin Hemmings (uncle’s). Host of other relatives and friends, may light perpetual shine upon him and may his soul rest in peace.
