Mary L. Turner

Mary L. Turner, was born in Andersonville, Georgia on December 11, 1935 to the late Beatrice Williams and C.Ross. She attended school in Andersonville, Georgia and had the admiration of several of her teachers who she visited later in adult life while visiting her hometown. She and her late husband, L.C. Turner moved to Florida by way of train when they both were 18 years old to start a new life. They eventually made many friends while on their journey to include Minnie Brown and the Floyds to name a few. She was employed with Orange County School Board where she retired after 38 years of service. Mary was well known in her industry and community for her famous cinnamon rolls and yeast rolls. She was a faithful member of Patmos Chapel S.D.A. Church for many years until she became a faithful member of Solomon's Porch Advent Ministries. Mary made an impact on everyone she met along her way. Even during her sickness, the impact she continued to have on people was tremendous whether it was personal or business. As a hobby, she enjoyed embroidery and cooking! Mary would enter her baked goods for competition at the Central Florida Fair every year for over 30 years and have won numerous ribbons. Even after having both knees replaced, she continued to walk in community walks and other community events. This showed the strength and endurance. Her most enjoy moments were family members getting together in one space, especially all of her children at once. Her greatest attribute was "telling it like it is" and not telling you what you wanted to hear. She leaves to cherish her memories: Children: Valerie Johnson, Ell J. Turner (Gwen), Gregory Turner (Sabrina) and Eric Turner (Grace), siblings: Pauline Wiggins and Joe Wiggins, Sr., Grandchildren: Carl (Temika), Sheneita and Tyller (Brittany), Ell Jerome, Elijawon, Tyesha (Chris), Ashley, Latoya, Travious Scott, Amber Burk (Justin), Great Grandchildren: Nakia, Amari, Jamari, Elijah, Skylar, Kamron, Chrisitan, Jaiceon, Tianna, Jayiden, Malia, Isiah, Jamar, Jamir, Jade, Joy, and Jett, Serenity, Legacy, Mariah, Elleora, and Lilah. Dedicated Caregiver: Greddie Hawk. Special nephew: Joe Wiggins, Jr. (Lachandra), and a host of nieces, nephews, family friends and church family.
