Mary Louise Glover

Mary Louise Glover was born October 27, 1933 to Warren and Zola Douglas Glover in Tavares, Florida. She was the fourth child of nine children. She attended Lake County public schools in Lake County Florida and graduated from Eustis Vocational High School. Later in life she attended Johnson Junior College where she further studied computer keypunch. She was a believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and accepted Christ as a young child at the family church, Friendship CME Church, Lane Park, Florida and later transferred to St. James AME Church, Eustis, Florida where she faithfully served as a Trustee, Financial Secretary, Missionary, sang in the choir and was a faithful member. She loved her church and her community and during her life she served and helped many. She worked and retired from Lake County Schools as a Media Specialist for 32 years. During that time, she positively affected the lives of many youth as well as adults. She was a life member in the NAACP and encouraged the community to exercise their right to vote. She volunteered as a voter pole worker for many years encouraging and demonstrating her commitment to community activism. She loved to travel and experience new places, and in her life, she was able to enjoy much travel with friends and family visiting many places in the world. She loved and was active in her local senior citizen group “Eustis Golden Seniors” and was dedicated to attending weekly Tuesday morning breakfast with her senior friends. On April 23, 1950, she married Christopher Columbus Walker and from this union three children were born: Shirley A. Walker, Sharon Walker and Reginald Christy Walker. She was preceded in death by six siblings and one nephew who was raised with the nine as a sibling and one-half sister: Juanita Bowleg Glover, Warren Glover, Jr., Edward Glover, Patricia Ann Glover, Claudius Glover, Michael Glover, James Stanley Benn Glover and Christine Sims-Cannady. Mary was called to her eternal rest on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Mary leaves to cherish precious memories to her three children, Shirley A. Walker, Sharon Walker-Hanna (Ernest Brad), Reginald Christy Walker (Wanda Davis); eight grandchildren: Brian Christopher Allen Walker, Ryan O’Neil Hanna, Dwayne Anthony Cofer, Damien Omar Cofer, Nicole Walker-Brooks, Joy Kristen Hanna-Ellis (Derrick), Reginald Walker, II, and Craig Davis (Erin); seven great-grandchildren: Shuwan Tetsu Hanna, Medina Sharice Cofer, Dyvine Jael Davis, Jeremiah Lee Ellis, Daniel Joshua Ellis, Jaida Anne Louise Ellis and Cruz Jagger Davis; three siblings: Joe Curtis Glover (Rev. Dorothy), Pauline Glover Atkins and Charles Edward Sims; sisters-in-law: Johnnie Mae Sneed-Glover, Ezell Reid-Glover, Dee Frazier-Glover; brother-in-law: Freddie Lee Cannady; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and loving friends.
