Marnita Middleton

Marnita Middleton affectionately known as Missy to her loved ones, was born April 20, 1966, in Andalusia, Alabama to her parents Carrie Lee Middleton and Curtis Lee Middleton. Marnita was the youngest of three. She graduated from Spring Valley High School of Spring Valley, New York in 1983. Marnita attended college at Rockland Community College and graduated in 1995 with an Associates of Nursing Assistant and Home Health Care. She worked in the health care field for many years until her and her only son relocated to Kissimmee, Florida in 1998. After relocating to Kissimmee, Marnita held several positions in nursing home care, hospitality, and customer service. In 2025, she left her position in good standing due to health concerns after more than 15 years of dedicated service with Delta Hotels and Resorts in Celebration, Kissimmee. Marnita was a faithful and devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for more than 20 years. She deeply loved her church family and shared a close and meaningful bond with her Pastor. Marnita served on the Pastor's Love Care Committee with genuine love, humility, and respect for the work she did. She was also actively involved in the Youth ministry, where she dedicated her time to helping guide and teach young people. In addition, Marnita served in the Deaconess ministry, Senior Mission ministry, the Church Choir, and wherever else she was needed, always willing to step in and help. She held a very special place in the hearts of the youth, who loved Ms. Marnita just as deeply as she loved them. She taught Youth Sunday school, Bible study, helped direct plays, skit recitals, and led in prayer anytime - if it involved the youth or Shiloh, Marnita was there. Her favorite pastimes included: playing cards (Spades), eating Publix chicken, Red Lobster, and Ichiban Chinese Buffet. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family, shopping (especially for purses and shoes), and she loved reading and studying her Bible. From time to time, Marnita enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions play, even though she never considered herself a football fan. Her son’s love for the game, drew her closer to it and made those moments, especially meaningful. Marnita entered into eternal rest on January 16, 2026. She was receded in death by her father, Curtis Lee Middleton; brother-in-law, Errol Welsh; and nephew, Willie James Martin. Marnita leaves to cherish her memories... Mother, Carrie Middleton; her one and only beloved Son, Willie Curtis White (Lisa); Sisters, Priscilla Welsh and Barbara McMillon (Zerrick); one Granddaughter, Jada White (Emanuel); one Grandson, Domenic Perez-White; one Great granddaughter, Giana Lucia Reynoso; one Godson, Terry Cruz Jr; two Lifelong friends, Tanya Hairston and Kim Henegain-Crawford; two Special Nephews, Alex Shaw and Jibriel Asante; Special Niece, Rachel Baker-Cruz (Terry); and a host of relatives, loved ones and friends.
