Mr. Mark Hester Whittaker

Mark Hester Whittaker was born September 24, 1962 in Opelika, Alabama to John Thomas Whittaker and Ella Buster Whittaker. He graduated from Jones High School in 1980. Immediately after graduation, he joined the US Army and served until 1984. During his time in the service he was deployed to Pakistan. After being honorably discharged he became a long distance truck driver for over twenty-seven years. In between his on and off trucking career, Mark worked in lumber, construction and landscaping. He was also an entrepreneur. He found and successfully ran two small businesses; Precious Logistics, LLC and Precious Lawn and Tree Service. When he wasn’t on the road or working hard, he was in the kitchen. Whether it was tasty desserts, gourmet holiday meals, or a pot of coon. He filled the house with delicious mouthwatering smells. No matter who you were if you stopped by and there was food on the stove he wouldn’t allow you to leave without eating. He wasn’t the type of man to give verbal expressions, but he showed his love through his food. As a doting husband, devoted son, nurturing father, loving sibling and compassionate friend, Mark has touched the lives of everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his father, John Thomas Whittaker. Mark leaves to cherish precious memories to his wife, Margaret Whittaker of Orlando, Florida; children: daughters, Crystal Myrick, Kearia Wootson (Antionio), LaPrecious Whittaker of Orlando, Florida, sons, Mark Whittaker, Jr. (Tiffany Mims), and Marcus Whittaker (Ashley), all of Orlando, Florida; parents, Reverend Harold and Mrs. Ella Buster Henderson of Tildenville, Florida; brother, John Whittaker of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Samantha Whittaker Shade of Orlando, Florida, Cheryl Whittaker of Tildenville, Florida, Mary Whittaker of Apopka, Florida and Joy Stribling of Ocoee, Florida; three sisters-in-law and five brothersin-law; grandchildren, Marcus Whittaker, Jr., Aubree Nelson, Tikari King, Sade’ King, Cameron Reaves, Shenara Wilkerson and Sairye Wilkerson, all of Orlando, Florida; twenty-eight nieces and nephews; thirteen great nieces and nephews; aunts, Henrietta Buster of Florida and Alice Buster of Georgia; uncles, Richard Davis of Georgia, and Sylvester Buster of Florida and a host of cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
