Mamie H. Howard

Mamie Huff Howard was born on May 11, 1942, in Sumter County, Florida, to Jeannie Ree Beard Huff and Ora Lee Huff, Sr. Mamie attended school in Sumter County and Lake County and had to take on the role of mother to her siblings at a young age. She later met her loving husband and was married on October 22, 1957, and to their union, eight children were born. They were devoted to each other for 52 years, until his passing on December 29, 2009. Mamie and her family moved to Rich Square, North Carolina where she received her CNA Certification, in 1973. She worked in Nursing until relocating back to her home state of Florida. She then became a supervisor at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts, until retirement in 2004. Mamie’s hobbies included cooking, sewing, fishing, and spending quality time with her family. She became a born again Christian in the early 1990’s, at Immanuel Temple Church, under the leadership of Bishop Daryl. P. Forehand. There, she became one of the Church Mothers until her passing. Mamie was preceded in death by her Father, Ora Lee Huff, Sr.; Mother, Jeannie Ree Beard Huff; Husband, James Howard, Sr.; Children: Patricia Howard, Stephanie Howard, and Stanley Howard, I; Siblings: Carolyn Taylor, Ora Lee Huff, Jr., Leroy Huff, Willie Huff, Frank Huff, and John H. Huff. Mamie leaves to cherish her memory by her loving Children: James Howard, Jr. of Mascotte, Florida, Annette Hooten of Leesburg, Florida, Sandra Arthur (Samuel) of Groveland, Florida, Barbara Russell of Mascotte, Florida, and John Howard (Kimberly) of Oakland, Florida; Siblings: Jesse Huff of Groveland, Florida, Ralph Huff (Annie Mae) of Mascotte, Florida, and Maxine Slaughter of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren: Tekeesa Isom (Anthony), Tawanda Walker (Michael), Terrell Howard, Adrian Holmes, Delic Demming (Samuel), Cedric Holley, Tangela Fails, Daniel Fails, Anthony Taylor, III, James Taylor, Whitney Smith (AL Terrell), Alexus Taylor, Alexia Taylor, Jackie Taylor, Samuel Arthur, Jr., Brainne Robinson, Stanley Howard, II (Tomika), Kianenu Robinson, Usah Hooten, Jr. Charles Russell, and Major Russell; GreatGrand children: Anthony Isom, Jr., Angel Isom, Chelsea Isom, Bryan Isom, Jamarcus Taylor, Landon Bramlett, Rodney Cooper, Kayhden Robinson, Rhyanna Cooper, Amir Torres, Stanley Howard, III, Braelyn Howard, Zion Hooten, Jimmie Reid, Jr., Michael Walker, Jr., Mitrell Walker, and Miracle Walker; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Amina Isom, Kobe Gomez, Asiah Johnson, and Jailany Isom; Goddaughter, Kate Russell; 2 loving Godsons: Brent McCoy and Elyon Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
