Linda Yvonne Jenkins-Smith

Linda Yvonne Jenkins-Smith was born November 30, 1960 to the late Melvin Jenkins and Martha Allen-Jenkins in Lawtey, Florida. At an early age she and family moved to Kissimmee, Florida. She was the 8th child out of 12 children (8 girls and 4 boys). Linda attended public schools in Osceola County and graduated from Osceola High School in 1979. As a teenager she dated and fell in love with Curtis Leon Smith. They were joined in holy matrimony on August 14, 1982 and to this union five children were born. They remained together for 31 years until the Lord decided to call her home. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age at St. James AME Zion Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Curry. Later she moved her membership to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Remer Baker, Jr. and later to Harvest Time Ministry and Worship Center under the leadership of her brother Rev. Melvin L. Jenkins. Linda was a loving and caring person that was a joy to be around. She always put others before herself. Everywhere she went she wore a smile on her face making everyone she encountered feel special and loved. She was a woman who wore many titles from girl scouts leader to cheer leading coach to candy lady but most of all "neighborhood mom". Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. You can say she left a mark on many. Linda began her employment with the Osceola County School District. She also ran a personal daycare out of her home until she was employed at Wal-Mart in 2001. She was a loving and faithful employee and well loved by her co-workers and customers until 2011. On Thursday, October 17, 2013, God sent his angles to carry his loving child Linda home to his heavenly kingdom. Her departure is a deep and personal loss to her family and friends. She will be truly missed by them all. She leaves in this life and awaits in another her beloved Husband: Curtis L. Smith: Five Precious Jewels: Tamika S. Smith, Latesha D. Smith, Natesha L. Jenkins and Lemuel A. Jenkins (Kristi); Seven Sisters: Diana E. Flowers, Rose M. Jenkins, Barbara A. Jenkins, Carol J. Jenkins, Debra K. Currie (Hubert), Cynthia L. Jenkins and Ruth A. Jenkins, all of Kissimmee, Florida; Seven Grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
