Lewis confessed Christ at an early age and united with the Groveland Church of God, located in Groveland, Florida, where his uncle, Bishop Ages Hart, Sr. served as pastor. Lewis remained a man of faith until his passing, sending out daily scriptures to family and friends. Lewis was educated in the public schools of Lake County, graduating from Groveland High School in 1972. Following high school Lewis joined the United States Army in July of 1972 and was honorably discharged on July 1, 1975. Lewis continued his education at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama with a certification in Auto Mechanics. He was employed with the City of Dothan for several years. He later worked with Duke Energy of Florida, serving many municipalities until his retirement. It was in Dothan that Lewis met the love of his life, Rosalyn Shivers in 1980, and they were joined in holy matrimony on July 28, 1984. To this union, three children were born. Lewis enjoyed many hobbies which included, fishing, playing pool (he considered himself a pool shark), bowling, and hunting. In all these endeavors, he was extremely competitive. He also loved old-school music and was often the life of the party. Charlie, as he was affectionately known by his family and those who knew him best, will always be in our hearts and held closely and lovingly in our memories. Lewis ended his earthly journey on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Lewis Hart, Sr. and Mary Hart; Siblings: Johnny, Elizabeth, and Maxine. A beloved husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, Lewis leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Rosalyn Hart, of Longwood, Florida; Children: April Hart Hardy (John) of Los Angeles, California, Gregory Hart of Orlando, Florida, twin daughters: Christina Hart and Karen Hart, both of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Grandchildren: Jada Hart and Lucas Hart, both of Orlando, Florida; Mattison Hardy and John Hardy, both of Los Angeles, California; Brother, Jerimiah Hart of Groveland, Florida; Sisters: Loretta Hart of Dothan, Alabama, and Betsy Hart Tomas of Groveland, Florida; Uncle, Henry Hart (Gussie) of Groveland, Florida; Aunt, Anna Porter McCloud of Dothan, Alabama; Mother-in-law, Jeanette Shivers of Longwood, Florida; Sister-in-law, Rhonda K. Ward (Dixon III) of Ashburn, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
