LaVera Taylor "Peewee"

Mrs. LaVera Russell was born on May 27, 1946 in Sanford, Florida to Willie Ed Russell, Sr. and Mattie Mae Russell. She was baptized at an early age under her uncle, A. L. Russell at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Dora, Florida where Reverend Dr. Bartell Coleman, Sr. is now Pastor. While attending the Lake County School System, she met Allen Taylor, Jr. who later became her husband of over 50 years. She worked as a housekeeper and CNA for over 50 years at Avante in Mount Dora, Florida. That was one of her greatest achievements. She was a faithful church member and loved working in the church. She loved raising money for church functions, especially for Family and Friends Day. She enjoyed helping people rather it would be family or friends and would always give from the heart and with a smile. Her hobbies were traveling and spending time with family, shopping, eating out, going to events and functions, and riding around with her daughter. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her father, Willie Ed Russell, Sr., mother, Mattie Mae Russell, sister, Frances Simmons and grandmother, Alberta Jones. She leaves to cherish precious memories to her husband, Allen Taylor, Jr. of Mt. Dora, Florida; children, Tuahana Rhodes (Al) of Eustis, Florida, Allen Darren Russell (Tafferlon) of Tavares, Florida and Robert L. Taylor of Orlando, Florida; siblings, Annette Banner and Mary Jean Pollock both of Mt. Dora, Florida, Sheila Doyle of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Betty Kagler (Earl) of Eustis, Florida and Willie Ed Russell, Jr. (Patricia) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Shaunta Walters (Reggie) of Clearwater, Florida, Al Rhodes, III and Derek Rhodes, Sr., both of Eustis, Florida, Allen Dontrell Russell (Deidra) of Tallahassee, Florida, Darrius Russell and Shgloria LaVera Russell, both of Mt. Dora, Florida and Zachariah Clark of Tampa, Florida; great grandchildren, Jay Rhodes of Leesburg, Florida, Derek Rhodes, Jr. of Eustis, Florida and Allen Dontrell Russell, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida; godchildren, Herbert Williams, III of Eustis, Florida, Denise Mitchell (Ronnell) of Mt. Dora, Florida and Tayacia Gathers of Eustis, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Ida Belle Washington and Mary MaClain; one brother-in-law, Reverend Mack Simmons; a special friend, Katie McNealy; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; Avante Crew; other relatives and sorrowing friends.
