He was raised in Stuckey, FL with his mother and grandmother Cora Taylor. John attended and graduated from Eustis Vocational - Cartright Campus and after he graduated, he joined his mother and stepfather picking fruit and other odd jobs. He later joined the United States Army and served for three years, and in those three years he spent time in Germany, Washington State, and other duty stations. H e enjoyed his time in the military, where met and gained lifetime friends. Once his contract ended in the military he was honorably discharged. John, alongside his mother was also a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Years later, he met and married the love of his life on August 13, 1977. They did not have any biological kids together but helped raise and love the grandchildren like their own. John was employed with Metrowest as a landscaper for over twenty years and South Lake High School for seven years, where he later retired. John spent his later years of life relaxing, spending time with family, watching his westerns, and scrolling on Facebook and Tik Tok. Whether you called him John, JB, o r Papa, he was a joy t o be around. He was a kindhearted, devoted family man, who loved his family. John was an only child, but all his cousins loved him like a brother and not a cousin. John was also known as the cleanest "OG" around. His smooth talk, starched crisp pants, shined boots, and Kangol hat was his signature look. John was easy going, and when he started talking and hit you with that "really, you know what I mean" the story was going t o end with a lot a laughter. John will b e sorely missed, but his memories will live in us forever. On October 3, 2025, John was called home to take his eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his Mother Gussie Mae Adderley, Father Zonnie Bostic and Stepfather, Oliver Adderley. Left to cherish his precious memories are his devoted Wife, Joyce Bostic of Mascotte, Florida; Son, Michael (Wandie) o f Groveland, Florida; Daughter, Tancie (Tony) of Orlando, Florida. Eight Grandchildren; Tiphanie of Silver Spring, Maryland and Cantrell of Kissimmee, Florida; Tory of Houston, TX; Tasha of Maitland, Florida; Mia, Michelle, Michael Jr, Mitrell, and Miracle of Groveland, Florida. Brother-in-Law; Robert Ward Jr (Robin) of Lake Wales, Florida; Sisters in Law; Annie Rhymes (Charlie) o f Buffalo, New York; Willie Ward, and Mary Mckinnon, both of Mascotte, Florida, 9 Great Grands, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Special relatives and Life-long Friends: Sinclair Laskette, Hubert (Sophie) Mckinnon, and Hodges.
