Johnnie J. Miller

Elder Johnnie J. Miller, son of the later Johnnie Miller, Jr. and Luemetter Watkins Miller, was born June 6, 1956 in Eatonville, Florida. He was the oldest brother of fifteen children born from this union, who was affectionately known to his family as "Von" or "J". Johnnie is a graduate of Edgewater High School in Orlando, FL. In his early years, he worked alongside his father and brothers in the family business, John Miller Roofing Company. His many years of construction knowledge afforded him to utilize these skills while working over 10 years for the City of Orlando. In his position with the City of Orlando, he started as a building inspector, then promoted to Engineering Construction Inspector. He inspected construction sites, right ways, and sanitary connections all over Orlando. He was very familiar with the Engineering Standard Manual which he enforced. Johnnie was a Man of God through and through, he served as a minister, elder, and chaplain. Any opportunity that was given to him to let others know that "Salvation Awaits Them" he was willing and able. His love for the Lord shined through even up until his last days. He was a strong man of his faith that he made sure to display and pass on to his children and grandchildren. Johnnie was a jack of all trades and a master of all of them, if it was something he didn't know he knew somebody who did. He loved his family immensely, as well as singing, biking, boating, and especially cooking. Johnnie departed this life on August 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Treva Miller Spears of Orlando, FL. Left to cherish his memories, his devoted and supporting wife Beverly, his loving children, Kourtni Gober (Kevin), Lavon Miller, Tyrant Davis, Kaynita Mark, grandchildren, Kayla Waters, Kennedi Rackard, Leiana Miller, Bishop Mark, Micah Mark, Josaish Mark, siblings, Janice Jordan (Johnnie), Dexter Miller, David Miller, Linda McClain (Avonia-deceased), Joyce Hall (William), Bernard Miller, Patricia Miller, Christopher Miller (Theresa-deceased), Michael Miller (Angela), Denise Miller, Tammie Jordan (Ronald), Sharineen Miller( Cynthia), and Quintin Miller; along with host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
