Mr. John D. Rockefellor Lilie

A TIME TO BE BORN On November 26, 1938, John D. R. Lilie was born to Parents Robert Lilie, Sr. and Mattie Washington Lilie in Palmetto, Florida were he was raised and also attended school. During his young adult years, the family relocated and settled in Winter Garden, FL. Preceding his death: Robert Lilie, Sr. (Father) Mattie Lee Washington Lilie (Mother) R.C. Lilie (Brother); Mollie M. Henderson (Sister), Mose Lilie (Brother) Ella Ree Geathers (Sister), Robert Lilie, Jr. (Brother), Herman “Doc” McQueen, Sr. (Father-in-law), and Naomi McQueen (Mother-in law). A TIME TO LIVE, LOVE AND SERVE Deacon Lilie met Barbara McQueen in 1960 and the two married in 1962. They then settled in Apopka, Florida and began building a family together. To this union came two wonderful children. He was a hard worker and built a career as a foreman for Finfrock, Industries in Apopka, Florida retiring after serving for more than thirty (30) years. Deacon Lilie became a born again believer in 1986. Upon giving his life to the Lord, he whole-heartedly devoted himself to prayer, God’s word and his church. He honored the Lord and his saving grace, by serving him faithfully through service to others and his local church. Deacon Lilie was indeed a Man of God who was small in stature but a “GIANT” in character, faith, wisdom and love for both the Lord and his family. He epitomized fatherhood and was a mentor and listening ear to many. He was phenomenal in his obligations as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, family member and friend. A TIME TO REST On January 28, 2017, Jesus Christ our Savior saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he gently closed his loving eyes and whispered, “Peace be Thine”. A TIME TO CHERISH He leaves to cherish his life’s memory: A Devoted Wife of fifty five years - Barbara Lilly of Apopka, Florida, Son – Synjohn Lilly (Althea) of Apopka, Florida; Daughter - Shayla Lilly of Apopka Florida; Sisters - Dorothy Jean Flemmings of Orlando, Florida and Ocie Lee Brumell of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Grand daughters - Shanay Lilly, Ashlyn Lilly and Milani Isales all of Apopka, Florida; and Grandson - Synjohn Lilly, II of Apopka, Florida and Great grand - Tristan P. Brown; Brother-in-laws - Herman McQueen, Jr. (Armetta) and Vernon McQueen (Gail); Sister-in-laws - Shirley M. Thomas, Vivian Beamer, Cheryl Pollard; Special Nieces - Veronica Anderson, Linda Wright, Special Nephews - Hermando McQueen, Torris Wright and Pastor Charles Beamer, II and a host of loving family and friends.
