Joanisse Rosier

Dear family and friends, on behalf of me and my family, we would like to start off by saying thank you for your prayers and unconditional support as we gather here today to celebrate the life of Joanisse Rosier. AKA Jean Edouard Jean Baptiste, born in Lagonave, Hati in 1951 he was the sixth of eleven children. He was kind, warm hearted, and very giving. Majority of us know him as Edouard or "Doi", but he was widely known throughout the family as "Parenn" which means Godfather in Creole. What's a godfather? A godfather is a man who presents a child during a baptism and promises to take care of the child should something happen to their parents. Parenn took it upon himself to take care of the ones he loved especially his family. Parenn was everybody's godfather, he cared for everyone in and outside of his family. If you were down, he found a way to pick you up. Parenn was the type of man who would give you his last with no questions asked. Parenn's best characteristic was that he loved joking and laughing. That was his way of either making you smile or laugh. l guess that's where my cousin Q gets it from. My uncle would always refer to me as "my son" a father to me he was since l never had a father. He taught me a lot about life and how to be a man first, then be a father. One thing l will always carry with me is how he would always educate me in the history of our Haitian ancestry and culture, my uncle was a walking and living Haitian historian who was proud of the history of his country. Joanisse Rosier fathered 4 children [Paul Edouard JeanBaptiste, Pierre Edouard JeanBaptiste aka "MAIKADOU" Whom past away 4 month ago. Edson JeanBaptiste aka Quincy Shakur, and the only baby girl Marie Chrisly Rosier He has 5 grandchildren (Chante JeanBaptiste. Paul Edouard JeanBaptiste Jr., Saul JeanBaptiste, Fahdian Edouard JeanBaptiste and Amari Joey Shakur. Dad ensured that he instilled and drilled into our heads the history and importance of the Jean-Baptiste, Leger, LeBlanc, Frangols and Rosier last names and what it meant to be family. Family meant everything to our father He prides himself on teaching us life lessons and being the men that we're today. Unfortunately, on February 9th,2021, Jehovah saw fit to call him home. To start his new journey and entrust his children to live out his legacy. Parenn will be deeply missed and forever live in our hearts always and forever......
