Sister Idella Lewis Jones

Idella Lewis Jones entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at her home. She was born on June 29, 1927, to Earl and Edna Lewis, deceased, in Maitland, "Woodbridge", Florida. She had two sisters Bernice Lewis Neal and Earleen Lewis Mcintyre (deceased). She attended grammar school at Rosenwald Elementary in Altamonte Springs, Fl. She also attended Jones High School in Orlando, Fl. During her school years, she played basketball and was the shortest point guard on the team. She graduated and received her high school diploma from Crooms Academy, in Sanford, Fl. After graduating high school she attended Apex Beauty Culture College in Atlanta, Georgia, to become a beautician. After graduating college she worked at several beauty salons in the Orlando area. She later worked at Mrs. Frank Wilson Beauty Salon in Altamonte Springs, Fl for many years. During that time she only charged five dollars for a wash, press and curl. She was also a homemaker working for several families in the area. On March 28, 1948 she was married in holy matrimony to Theodore Jones of Altamonte Springs, Fl. (deceased). To this marriage four children were born: Conchita, Redonna, Tony (deceased) and Todd. Her favorite color is yellow. She especially loved wearing her Sunday hats and Sunday best. Her favorite foods were: fish, ice cream and watermelon. She also loved to dance. Her interest was making her family happy. Keeping them safe from all the iniquities of the world. She loved her family. She lived her life with integrity and bravery. She will be greatly missed by her family, the church family and the Woodbridge Community. She leaves to carry on her legacy two daughters, Conchita Jones Baldwin (Reginald) of Altamonte Springs, Fl. and Redonna Jones of Orlando, Fl.; one son, Todd Jones of Orlando, Fl.; ten grandchildren, Ladawn Mike (Terrance) of Apopka, Fl., Juanita Bolden (Asa) of Altamonte Springs, Fl., Latesha Chambers (Greg) of Orlando, Fl., Donnell Jones of Seattle, Washington, Idella Chilsom (Jason), Todd Jones, II, Reginald Baldwin, Jr., Steven Jones, all of Orlando, Fl., Brittany Baldwin and Kimberly Jones both of Altamonte Springs, Fl.; one daughter-in-law, Linda Jones (Tony Jones, Deceased) of Orlando, Fl.; one sister: Evangelist Bernice Neal (Cleveland); a precious devoted cousin, Derrick Dunn; a devoted and faithful caregiver, Regina Bolden; like a daughter, Chelidonia Richard of Orlando, Fl., twenty-three great-grandchildren; a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. ***Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.*** Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL, 33513
