Herman White

Herman "Doc" White was born in Pensacola, FL on May 12, 1943. He moved to Eatonville, FL at an early age and was raised by his adoptive parents, Hattie and Thomas Hobbs. Growing up in Eatonville, he graduated from Hungerford along with all his friends. During this time, he met the love of his life, Elois Loray Thomas. After graduating Bethune Cookman College with Bachelors in English, Herman and Elois would unite in holy matrimony on July 1, 1966. This year would have been their 58th wedding anniversary. After completing this tour in Vietnam while serving in the United States Air Force, Sergeant Herman White became a family man. Lisa was his first born and then Brian came 5 years later. Doc worked for Prudential for many years an Audio and Visual Engineer and during this time, he travelled throughout North America and Canada, setting up major convention for Prudential events. His favorite events were the ones at Disney since his family could stay at the hotels and enjoy all the amenities. Herman, Doc, Daddy, Pop , Poppy, Uncle Doc, In The Wheel, and Dr. Bigfoot were just a few of the terms of endearment from people who loved and admired him. He would go to the moon and back for Lisa and Brian, and even farther for his grandchildren and great grandchildren who called him Poppy. He was a father figure, role model and a ray of sunshine to anyone he encountered. No one was a stranger when it came to Doc. He would speak to any and everyone who was within speaking distance and always give them a great smile to brighten up their day. And he gave everyone a nickname, including the family dogs and stray cats. Doc enjoyed many things, like hanging out with his friends on the side of the road on any street in Eatonville. He enjoyed sitting in his parked car to ' people watch' while eating peanuts, sunflower seeds, sweet and diet Dr. Pepper. Watching sports was his favorite pastime, football was his favorite, followed by baseball, golf, and basketball. He even sat the entire 3+ hours of the Daytona 500 with no headphones because he wanted to feel and hear the roar of the cars passing by. Doc was preceded in death his his Parents, Thomas Hobbs and Hattie Hobbs, and Great Grandchildren, Jahlil Evan Sullivan and Jaxston Elijah Sullivan. Left to carry on his legacy are his WIFE, Elois Loray White of Eustis, Florida; CHILDREN, Lisa Marie Abdallah-Nosakhere (Baruti) of Eustis, Florida and Brian Christopher White (Alicia) of Kissimmee, Florida; GRANDCHILDREN, Antoninette Marie Scully, LaNeil Auze' Davis, Anthony Keith Hood II, Auzelique Denise Davis, George Theodore Davis IV, Alyse Nicollette Poleon, Brian Christopher White II, Taylor DeShawn White, and Quinaija Marie Kendrick; GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, Jade Evonne Sullivan, Astrid Elizabeth Scully, Layla Brielle Hood, Ame'lie Christian Scully, Jace Easton Sullivan; Neveah Grace White, Londyn Marie Hood and Kobe Joseph Hood; GODDAUGHTER, Rhonda Zeigler Mack, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, community members and friends.
