Mrs. Hattie Tennille Bland

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10 Hattie Tennille Bland was born August 1, 1936 in Eufaula, Alabama to James and Willie Mae Tennille. Hattie received her education from the Public Schools in Eufaula, Alabama, graduating in 1955. She was united in holy matrimony to James T. Bland and to this union four children were born. Hattie received the Lord at an early age at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama. She later relocated to Winter Garden, Florida and joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Woodard, now under the leadership of Reverend Frankie L. Massey. Hattie was loyal and dedicated to serving her church and pastor in any auxiliary where she was needed; Usher Board, Kitchen, President of the YPD, President of Women’s Missionary Society, Stewardess, Trustee. She also served as a member of the County Wide Charity Club, until her health started failing in 2011. Hattie departed this world for her new home on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 8:00 P.M. at Health Central Park of Winter Garden, Florida. Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Bland, parents, James and Willie Mae Tennille, son, Wilburt C. Bland, siblings, James C. Tennille, Sidney Tennille, Jimmy Tennille, Marion Johnson and Rose M. Powell. She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Gilbert and Reginald Bland both of Winter Garden, Florida; a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra Bland-Day (Lindsey); grandson, reared as her own, Reginald Holley; devoted god daughter, Tarnisa Demps (Bruce), adopted son, Albert Zackary of Winter Garden, Florida; two sisters, Ethel Thomas (James) of Eufaula, Alabama, Bernice Humphries (Carlton) of Orlando, Florida; one brother, Wilbert Tennielle (Debra) of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Frances Tennille and Eula Mae Tennielle, both of Eufaula, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Giovanni Screws (Patrick), Terrell Brutley, Shira Bland, Taylor Bland, Bria Demps, Jonathan Demps, Keisha McNealy; eight great grands, Reniya Mcelroy, Kylan Thomas, Carmen Smith, Raequan Screws, Kyria Screws, Rihanna Dunn, Nathan Jackson and Patrick Screws; a host of god-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
