Harold Williams

Harold Williams was born May 30, 1929. He was the second born of Sandy and Estella Williams. Among his siblings, he was the middle child of an older sister, Leona and two younger brothers, Sandy and Reginald. The Williams family relocated from Georgia to Winter Park, Florida where Harold was born. He graduated from Hungerford High School, where he played football and learned to love three things…clothes, cars, and girls. After graduating high school, Harold moved to the suburbs of Chicago, where he met and married Dolores Horton. To their union four children were born. Harold worked at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company for over 25 years. Because of Jim Crow, the only position offered was a janitor. Still, thanks to the efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King and other Civil Rights Activists, employment advancement opportunities filtered down to Harold who subsequently received two big promotions within the company. Harold was a business man, so while working full-time at the telephone company, he would always work a second job. In addition to that, he went on to own and operate janitorial businesses, several restaurants, and a couple of trucking businesses. After working hard, he enjoyed owning several homes. Harold retired at the age of 55 and moved back to Winter Park, Florida where he created a real estate portfolio of houses and apartments. Harold always was the life of the party. He loved to laugh, own beautiful cars and motor homes, watch all sports (baseball, football and basketball), and a had a photographic memory of the statistics for major players. He was preceded in death by his Father, Sandy Williams, Sr.; Mother, Estella Williams; Sons: Harold Michael Williams and Anthony Williams; and Brothers: Sandy Williams, Jr. and Reginald Williams. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his Soulmate of 33 years, Zenoblia Johnson of Orlando, Florida; Daughter, Pamela DeNueve of Jacksonville, Florida; Son, Kevin Williams of Stuart, Florida; 13 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. In the spirit of Harold, we say bye now, and he wouldn’t want us to cry but to celebrate the life he lived to the fullest.
