Gloria Jean Harden

Gloria Jean Harden was born July 13, 1950 in Magnolia, Mississippi to Ollie Moses and Annie Rose Moses. She moved to St. Cloud, Florida and attended Kissimmee High School. She was a majorette in the Kissimmee High School Band, The Marching Mustangs. She was voted the cutest girl in school by the school newspaper one year. At an early age, Gloria accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in St. Cloud. She remained an active member until her recent health decline. In 1980 she met and fell in love with Elijah Harden, Sr. They confirmed their commitment and devotion by uniting in Holy Matrimony on April 27, 1993. She would sometimes travel with him when he drove truck which created a friendship and a bond that endured through health, sickness, and death. Gloria was an active member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and worked on various committees. She loved Bible Study and Sunday School because her desire was to understand GOD’s Word. Gloria was a very loving and giving person and never said no to anyone. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She worked for Jefferson Ward until it closed. She then went to work for Mercury Marine and remained there until her health declined. Gloria was an avid reader and always had a novel with her. She would work on complex puzzles until they were completely assembled. She loved word search books and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Corrine Lott and her parents Ollie Moses and Annie Rose Moses. She leaves to cherish her love and many memories: husband, Elijah Harden, Sr.; children, Thomas Herring (Monica), Haywood Herring, Sherri Herring, all of Kissimmee, Florida, Derrick Carter, Las Vegas, Nevada; stepsons, Elijah, Jr., Gregory, James (Rashanda) John and Arthur Harden, all of Kissimmee, Florida; stepdaughter, Lois Jones; sisters, Etta (Clenton) Thomas, Orlando, Florida, Katherine Brown, Kissimmee, Florida, Vanessa Taylor and Sharonda (Thomas) Walker of Moss Point, Mississippi; brothers, Samuel Moses of Houma, Louisiana and Frank (Ernestine) Taylor of St. Cloud, Florida; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; four aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
