Freddie Martin

Freddie - The Beginning Freddie Martin was born January 12, 1949 to Mr. L. C. Martin and Mrs. Mary Doris Moss Martin in Apopka, Florida. Freddie - The Growing Phase Freddie’s early education began at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary and High School, where he participated in several activities including the band and football. Freddie graduated in 1967 as a “Mighty Panther” from Phyllis Wheatley High School. Freddie - A New Beginning Freddie began a new phase in life when he became a man He was employed by Plymouth Citrus attaining the position of Forman. As better opportunities presented themselves, Freddie was employed by Bellsouth, where he remained for 38 years, until retirement. Freddie traveled the country extensively with his job after flood, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other disasters that devastated parts of the country, restoring phone services. Freddie was retired for 10 years before becoming 2 Corinthians 13:11, “But when I became a man, I put away childish things”. Freddie was a member and Usher at St. Luke Full Gospel Baptist Church in Zellwood, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Hezekiah Bradford. He was also a member of the Apopka Progressive Seniors and a Mason of the Jupiter Lodge. Freddie met and married the love of his life, Cathy Davis Martin. She was his steadfast, strong, forgiving, dedicated, and unmovable companion through both court-ship and 52 years of marriage. To their union, five wonderful children were born. Freddie was preceded in death by his Father, L.C. Martin; Mother, Mary Doris Moss Martin; Brother, Horace Martin; and Sisters: Eva Macon, Louise Hill, and Louellen Gainey. Freddie leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted Wife, Cathy Davis Martin of Apopka, Florida; 5 Children: Son, Tremayne Martin (Valon) of Sorrento, Florida; Daughters: Adrienne Martin Johnson (Michael) of Apopka, Florida, Ambra Martin Dennison (Willie) of Apopka, Florida, Latambra Mars Hayes (Robert) of Atlanta, Georgia, and LaKrissa Davis of Apopka, Florida; Brother, Kenneth Martin (Sarah) of Atlanta, Georgia; Sister, Jacqueline Martin of Apopka, Florida; 12 Grand-children, 18 Great Grandchildren; Brother-in-law, Dan Davis, Jr. (Diane), 2 Godsons: Craig Sinclair (Lisa) of Jacksonville, Florida and Quantary Roberson (Natalie) of Apopka, Florida; and a host of other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
