As the second youngest of seven children born to Abraham and Sophie Beckman, family played a central role in shaping Frances' journey. Her commitment to family began in the early days of her marriage to Charles Rieders, with whom she lovingly raised their two children, Bonnie and Robin. In 1963, she met her second husband, Willie T. Lane, and together they welcomed two more children into their lives, Laurie and William. In 1968, she found a lifelong partner in Gilbert H. Sims, with whom she shared 34 years of companionship and unwavering support. Building a strong foundation of love and togetherness, Frances reveled in the joys of family life. Relocating to Orlando in 1972, Frances wholeheartedly embraced her new community and dedicated herself to service through working with The Salvation Army organization. Over the course of a decade, she forged deep connections with the community she adored, leaving an indelible mark on those she encountered. Frances's professional journey was equally remarkable, spanning over 15 years at the Orange County Civic Center. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence was a testament to her character and integrity. Frances was an unwavering pillar in the Pine Hills Community for over 50 years, where she touched countless lives with her boundless love and unwavering compassion. She became renowned for celebrating holidays and parties, which were much more than just festive gatherings. They were a testament to her commitment to fostering strong family bonds and creating cherished memories. She enjoyed hosting and showing her culinary talents that brought her beloved family and cherished friends together. Whether it was holiday feasts or joyous celebrations, Frances's warm and inviting home became a hub of love, laughter, and togetherness. In addition, Frances embraced her family's milestones with unwavering support and enthusiasm. She took great pride in attending school events for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her presence at their performances, graduations, and athletic competitions showcased her unwavering dedication as a loving and supportive matriarch. Her love extended beyond her human family members. She had a special place in her heart for her furry companions, who were considered cherished members of the family. Her pets brought immeasurable joy and comfort to her life, and she reciprocated with boundless affection and care. As we bid farewell to Frances, let us remember her as a shining example of love, strength, and devotion to both family and community. Her legacy of unity, fostered through her unforgettable gatherings and unwavering support, will forever serve as a reminder to cherish the precious moments spent with our loved ones. May her spirit of love and celebration continue to inspire us as we honor her memory. Frances was preceded in death by her husbands Charles and Willie T.; and her lifelong partner, Gilbert. Today as we gather to celebrate she leaves behind, Children: Bonnie, Robin, Laurie (Jerome), and William (Billy); Grandchildren: Shanika, Courtney, Brittney, Adrienne, Dominique, Bajil, Morgan, and Lesli; Great-Grandchildren: Jordan, Jalen, Julien, Logan, Jacob, Mayvis, and Jerome. Also beyond her immediate family, a void will be felt by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her love, legacy and and amazing spirit will forever remain in our hearts and memories to treasure.
