Evangelia Lavette Pierson

Evangelia “Vann” L. Pierson was born on February 18, 1970 in Orlando, Florida. She was born to the late Willie C. Barnes and Sheryl Anderson of Winter Garden, Florida. Vann was raised on West Crown Point Road in Winter Garden, Florida and attended school in the Orange County school system. She graduated from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida. On April 6, 2021, her Lord and Savior called her Home; where she will live eternally. Her homecoming was preceded by her parents and brother Dorian Barnes of Harrisburg, PA. Most of her youth was spent being guided by her Grandma Lee, who ensured she knew the importance of education. In fact, Vann began teaching her grandmother how to read at the age of 4 years old. After graduating high school, Vann’s educational career did not end there. She earned two master’s degrees from Troy University and before her call Home, even wanted to continue her journey to law school. Vann’s career path led her to real estate where she was the owner, founder, and principal broker of Alternative Mortgage Finance Co. Over the course of 20 years, Vann worked for multiple mortgage companies as an underwriter and had ventures in real estate. Vann was a faithful member of New Jacob’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Clermont, Florida. Vann was loved and her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to have really known her. Along with her humungous heart, she always had a sense of determination to not only better herself, but those around her. Mourning her passing, while yet rejoicing that Vann is in the presence of her Heavenly Father, she leaves to cherish her five children: Keishia Barnes of Buffalo, New York, Melvin Barnes of New Market, England, Keith Middlebrooks (Kourtne) of Greenville, North Carolina, Khalil Pierson and her lawyer girl Kenya Pierson, both of Clermont, Florida; two loving brothers: Zink Poole of Clermont, Florida, and Willie Barnes (Carrie) of Harrisburg Pennsylvania; and one sister, Shani Bowser (Jonathan) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; grandchildren include: Ahmani, Amir, Ahmad, Abigail, Jaden, Deion, and Adam; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
