Elizabeth J. Auguste

Elizabeth Jones Auguste was born on May 14, 1955, in Turbeville, South Carolina, to Roosevelt Capers and Rev. Rewdes Mary Hodge. Raised in Sumter, South Carolina, she was deeply influenced by her grandmother, Maggie Wright, from whom she learned the art of cooking. Later, she moved to Florida, where she made a notable impact in the healthcare industry, including her role as a manager at the Salvation Army in Orlando. Elizabeth was known for her dedication to service and community, always embodying a sense of professionalism and grace, with a keen attention to style. She also had extensive experience in the restaurant industry, where she held several management positions. Throughout her areer, Elizabeth was admired for her leadership, commitment to excellence, and her ability to inspire those around her. Her commitment to family was unwavering; she often prioritized their needs above her own, offering support, prayer and encouragement even during her own challenges. Inspired by her mother, Reverend Mary Hodge, Elizabeth's passion for ministry blossomed early. After her mother's passing in 1998, she worked alongside her sister in various church roles. Throughout her service, Elizabeth held several key positions, including Lead Usher Evangelist Deacon Board Member Operational Services Manager In these roles, she managed church operations and ensured professionalism across all endeavors. Elizabeth’s affection for the church community, particularly the children, was evident; she would often humorously scold them for chewing gum during services. A devoted member, Elizabeth remained active even after the church relocation from North Florida to Orlando, continuing her service on the board until her sister illness. Her legacy of dedication and faithfulness continues to inspire the members of Apopka House of Prayer and Faith, who will deeply miss her loving presence. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her Father, Roosevelt Capers; Mother, Rev. Rewdes Mary Hodge; Brothers Michael Hodges and James Jones; and Sisters Dotsey Dubose, Mary Adams, Shirley Ivey, Revia M. Odom, and Lula Mae Hodge She is survived by her Son, Shawn L. Robinson whom she loved unwaveringly; Grandchildren Jaqual, Paris, and Jamell Robinson; Great-grandchildren Jair Robinson and Jagual Robinson, Jry and Siblings Glenn Jones, Diane Bartee (Vincent), Leroy Hodge, Randolph Hodge, Martha Jones, Lisa Jones, Joseph Hodge, Annie R. Dobson, Bobbie J. McDowell, Bobby Capers, Rosevelt Capers (Everlina), Timothy Capers, James G. Capers, and Christopher Capers, as well as a host of loving family members in South Carolina, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her memory and legacy will forever be cherished by her family and community.
