Eddie Clarence Hines

Eddie Clarence Hines was born on February 12, 1949 in Eustis, Florida, to Charlie Hines, Jr. and Marie Williams Hines. He attended Lake County Public Schools. Eddie met his wife when she was 13 and he was 15. The relationship blossomed into everlasting love. Later they left Mt. Dora and relocated to Tampa, FL, where they were united in Holy Matrimony in 1971. At the age of 15, he worked with his father in the Citrus Industry (orange groves) driving trucks. That’s where his passion for truck driving began. Leaving the groves behind, he drove trucks for cement companies where he was a trainer. He extended his truck driving to semitrucks for both long and short hauls. Eddie had a smile that would light up a room. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. Indeed he was a talker and enjoyed celebrating life with others. Eddie was very devoted to his family and worked hard to keep his family close and united. He made sure there was a strong family bond and was deeply rooted in family life. He did not miss a beat with his grands or great grands and was constantly sharing life lessons, with the hope of giving them a solid foundation. Eddie never gave up on anything he faced in life. He would always challenge others to find another route when the detours of life would take place. Eddie wore his illness as if it was a coat given to him by to God. At times it didn’t fit (with symptoms), yet he endured (wore) it gracefully and never complained. He would often say, “What’s that face?... That’s not your original face”. He wanted to keep a smile on our faces all the more, UNTIL THE VERY END. On October 23, 2021, Eddie Clarence Hines, stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Hines, Jr.; mother, Marie Williams Hines; brother, Charlie Hines, III; and sister, Jean Marie Hines. Left to cherish his memory, his devoted Wife, Bobbie Faye Hines of Mt. Dora, FL; Daughter, Nereka K. Wiggins (Alonzo) of Tavares, FL; Siblings: Dwight River of Gainesville, FL, Anthony Hines (Sabrina) of Eustis, FL, Michael Ward (Dawn) of Leesburg, FL, Thaiser Taylor of Tampa, FL, Torin Glover of Eustis, FL, Ramona Hines of Atlanta, GA, Carolyn Manning (Morris) of Zellwood, FL, and Stephanie Cummings (Rudolph) of Mt Dora, FL; Grandchildren: Jasmine S. Wiggins of Tavares, FL and Jaleyah N. Wiggins (Eric) of Eustis, FL; Great Grandchildren: Jayvon A. Jackson, Eric D. Samuel, and Aniya M. Samuel, all of Eustis, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
