Dwayne Lamont Ashley

Dwayne "Lamont" Ashley was born July 26, 1973 in Orange County's then Orange Memorial Hospital, Orlando FL. Born to Deborah Ann Ashley and Paul M. Counts, Jr. Although his first name is Dwayne, he was lovingly called "Lamont" pretty much his whole life by his family and friends. He never met a stranger. He talked to everybody and anybody. And boy could he talk! He loved people and was concerned about the souls of mankind. He attended and graduated from Osceola High School; where he participated in swimming, wrestling and Varsity football. His love for water, landed him the position of a lifeguard at Kissimmee YMCA. He was also part of a winning swim team at Osceola High School. He loved martial arts. The late Bruce Lee was his idol and he received plenty of whippings for kicking at people like he was Bruce Lee. He did later master the art. After high school, Lamont married Lorinda Lomen and was so for over 20 years. Born to this union were (4) children: Sasha, Daniel, Christiana, and Joseph. Lamont's occupation was an Electrician. Through the years, he worked for Terry's Electric, Ace, Carter Electric and others. He later became a member of the IBEW Local Union 606, where his electrical expertise was utilized as a subcontractor through the Union. He probably did some electrical work at your house. Lamont's life test and trials pushed him into the arms of music; where he found solace and peace. He began teaching himself to play the violin, the saxophone and the drums. However, the violin was his passion. He never mastered it. Oh boy, did it sound rough! But to his ears, it was beautiful music and that was his happy place. The music has stopped now, because unexpectedly on that August 19, 2019, I believe the Father was standing there with outstretched arms and saying to Lamont, as he said to Enoch, "Lamont, you're closer to my house than you are to your house. Come on and go home with me." And he took him. Lamont leaves to mourn his Wife and Children, Mother and Father, Siblings: Tesha Thurston, Brandon (BJ) Ashley, Paul Counts, III; Grandmother: Dorothy Jean Steward. Grandfather: Phillip Hall. Uncles, Aunties, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Friends, Co-Workers and everyone whose path he ever crossed. Lamont knew Christ as his Savior. That leaves no doubt as to where he is now, God has spoken, let the church say Amen.
