Debra Kay Jenkins

Debra Kay Jenkins-Currie was born September 3, 1962 to Melvin Jenkins and Martha AllenJenkins in Kissimmee, Florida. She was the 9th child of 12 children (eight girls and four boys). Debra attended public school in Osceola County. After school she moved to Lawtey, Florida to help take care of her grandmother. Later she returned to Kissimmee, Florida and started her own family. She was blessed with five children. She received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age at St. James AME Zion under the leadership of the late Reverend Curry. Later she moved her membership to Harvest Time Ministry and Worship Center under the leadership of her brother, Reverend Melvin L. Jenkins, Jr. Debra later met her loving husband Hubert Currie they fell in love and was united as one in 2007. They shared their life together and were happy until God called her home. Debra was so loving and caring, she was a joy to be around. She always put others before herself. Everywhere she went she had a smile on her face and someone knew her. She was the most sweetest, loving, humble woman you could ever meet. She always made sure everyone around her was happy. Debra began her employment at Winfield Inn in the late 90’s. She then proceeded to work for the Palms at Park Place for sixteen years; until she was called home to be with mother, father and sister. On Thursday, February 13, 2020, God sent His angels down to carry his loving child Debra home to His Heavenly Kingdom. Her departure is a deep and very sad loss to her kids, family and friends. She will truly be missed by them all. Debra was preceded in death by her loving parents, Melvin and Martha Jenkins, along with one of her older sister, Linda Y. Smith as well as a host of aunts, uncles and a sister-in-law. Debra leaves in this life and awaits in another her beloved husband: Hubert Currie; the fantastic five: Terrance D. Bell (Camisha), Va’leeka N. Jenkins, Shakeida M. Jenkins, David R. Montgomery and DiAndre D. Montgomery (Catrina); grandchildren, Aiden Bell, Tristan Bell, Imani Bell, Zaniyah Bell, Ta’Kira Perkins, Amarii Jenkins, TaMyah Smiley, Kh’nias Smiley, Dh’nias Smiley, Azhiya Perry, Syriah Regular, Ranyia Jenkins, Shanyah Montgomery, Kayden Montgomery, Dreden Montgomery, Daylen Montgomery; brothers, James Jenkins (Shirley Ann), George Jenkins, Reverend Melvin Jenkins, Jr. (Michelle) and Len Jenkins (Kristi); sisters, Diane Flowers, Roselyn Jenkins, Barbara Jenkins, Carol Jenkins, Cynthia Jenkins, Ruth Ann Jenkins; brother-in-law, Curtis Smith; god brothers, Dwyane McGee and John Mcgee; godsons, Tye Jenkins and Zykeem Barrett; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
