Cheryl Robinson "Cherry" Bailey

Cheryl Daphne Robinson Bailey, affectionately known as “Cherry”, was born December 4, 1959 in Orlando, Florida to parents, Arthur Robinson, Sr. and Minnie Mae Freeman Robinson. Cheryl was a graduate of the class of 1977 at Apopka Memorial High School, in Apopka, Florida. Cheryl was a member of Freewill Holiness Church for over 50 years. She loved God and constantly prayed, read her bible and knew the scriptures very well. She had an amazing gift to sing. She began singing in church at the tender age of nine years old, and that was only the beginning. Her passion for singing was really inspiring and uplifting. She sang in many churches on many programs, as she constantly visited different churches until her health began to fail. Cheryl was employed as a caregiver, but the majority of her years of employment was spent in the Foliage/Nursery Industry where she worked in production until her health failed. Cheryl loved people. She never met a stranger, and they would have her undivided attention when talking about God and His powers. She often spent time laughing and reminiscing with her siblings of the love and times they shared together while growing up, and her love for her only son. Throughout Cheryl’s sickness and pains, she never gave up her faith, saying, “If God don’t do it, I know He can”. Throughout all of her sickness and pains, she called on the name of the Lord. God saw that his daughter was tired from her long suffering and pain. In His infinite wisdom, He called her home to eternal rest to be with Him, on May 8, 2023 at 5:38 p.m. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Lataya V. McCray; Father, Arthur Robinson, Sr.; Mother, Minnie Mae Freeman Robinson; Sisters, Elizabeth Robinson Gray and Irene Johnson Lane; Brothers: Alvin J. Robinson, Arthur Robinson, Jr., Albert D. Robinson, and Anthony B. Robinson; Cheryl leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: Son, Mentory T. Robinson (Brandy); Grandson: Mentory T. Robinson, Jr.; Brother, Gregory Robinson, Sr. of Apopka, FL; Sisters: Carolyn Robinson of Mt. Dora, FL, Carolyn Johnson of Plymouth, FL, Pamela Robinson-Sanchez of Apopka, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
