Mrs. Carla Syvette Tanner

Carla Syvette Tanner was born September 30, 1966 to Eleanor and George Tanner in Orlando, Florida. She attended P.S. 155 in Harlem, New York; Riverdale Junior High School in Bronx, New York; John F. Kennedy High School in Bronx, New York and Jones High School in Orlando, Florida. Carla departed this life Monday, April 3, 2017 at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. She was baptized at St. Paul AME Church as a child, later she rededicated her life to Christ at New Covenant Baptist Church Orlando, Florida April 27, 2014. Carla was a loving, caring and humorous person. She had a magnetic smile and left a happy impression on every person she met. Carla was quick to voice her opinion but even quicker to help anyone in need. One of her greatest accomplishments was obtaining her high school diploma in April of 2010 and enrolling at Valencia College. Carla worked at the Amway Center for many years, enjoying rubbing elbows with many celebrities on the club level. Carla loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. Her fun and happy spirit will always be remembered. We will miss seeing her, especially in her red glasses. Carla was preceded in death by her uncles, Donald Robinson, Ronald Robinson, Earl Tanner, Alphonso Tanner, Willie (Peter) Carlyle, Ralph Carlyle, aunts, Bertha Hickson, Ora Lee Carlyle, Judy Daniel and Sandra Thomas. She leaves to cherish precious memories to: two daughters, Courtney Tanner of Orlando, Florida and Joezette Tanner of Atlanta, Georgia; one son, Vennis Tanner of Orlando, Florida; seven grandchildren, Roddrick Henry, Amaree Henry, Kenyon Henry, Ty’niyiah Thomas, Tyrek Tanner and Tashaun Tanner all of Orlando, Florida and Ayden George Tanner of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Eleanor Tanner-Faulkner of New York, New York, father, George Tanner of Orlando, Florida; one sister, Rhonda Tanner of Boston, Massachusetts, one nephew, Herb Tanner of Boston, Massachusetts; her best friend/sister for many years, Susie Pugh of Orlando, Florida; aunts, Florence Shuler (Ralph) of Apopka, Florida, Yvonne Pickard of Zellwood, Florida, Veronica Foster (Milford) of Plymouth, Florida and Aribell Patterson of Orlando, Florida, Martha Newsome (Arthur Lee) of Apopka, Florida; uncles, Harry Lee Carlyle (Wanda) of Altamonte Springs, Florida and Samuel Carlyle of Reading, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, extended family and sorrowing friends.
