Bobbie Jean Jefferson

Bobbie Jean Jefferson was born January 10, 1955, in Arlington, Georgia to the Late Allene Jefferson Rainey and the late Charlie Lofton. Bobbie was the youngest of six children. Bobbie loved growing up in an exceptionally large extended family that surrounded her with love, life, and laughter. Bobbie was a wonderful and dedicated mother to her daughters the late Felicia A. Rainey Harrell and Chantel Rainey. She devoted her life to ensuring that she served others, not just those in her family, but many strangers needing a hand up. She gave not only her time, but she shared her home as families transitioned to better situations. Bobbie also loved spending time manicuring her lawn and gardening by her gazebo. The beach was her happy place, where she would find serenity and peace, while playing in the sand with the kids. She loved organizing family reunions and being the showcase of entertainment. She served on all family committees, to ensure the Morgan-Jefferson reunions were the talk of the family, near and far. She enjoyed gathering for Sunday dinners almost every week at Auntie Cooter’s house, where she served her famous “macaroni and cheese.” She contributed her time and resources selflessly to her family, the community, and friends. Bobbie Jean graduated from Wymore Technical High School in 1973, but spent most of her high school career at Ocoee High School. She continued those relationships with her classmates and shared in various Class of 1973 activities. She was also a dedicated employee of Walt Disney World from 1972 – 2015. She began her career as a reservationist at the youthful age of sixteen and served the Walt Disney World organization well, for 43 years. She had been retired for 8 years before she gained her wings. Most importantly, she was a child of God, fearlessly and wonderfully made. A believer in God’s word, His will, and His way. She grew up in the church singing in the choir and serving as called. She started her Christian journey as a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Winter Garden and recently a member of Open-Door Primitive Baptist Church, in Orlando, Florida. Bobbie passed away peacefully at her home, on Wednesday, January 24, 2023. She was surrounded by her daughter, siblings, and cousins. Bobbie leaves to cherish her precious love and many memories: daughter, Chantel A. Rainey of Orlando, Florida; brothers, John H. Rainey, Arthur Lee Rainey of Winter Garden, Florida, Lorenza Rainey (Tondra) of Ocoee, Florida and Morris Lofton (Jackie) of Arlington, Georgia; sisters, Lillie Mae Reese of Winter Garden, Florida, Bertha Moldin and Louise Mosley both of Albany, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Ernestine Doyle, Lonnie Jefferson (Velma) of Winter Garden, Florida and Brantley Jefferson (Loretha) of Orlando, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
