Betty Jean Dubose

Betty Jean Dubose was born July 15, 1954 in Tuskegee, Alabama to parents, John H. Dubose and Ethel P. Dubose. At an early age, Betty and her family moved to Apopka, Florida where she attended Phyllis Wheatley School. Betty was a phenomenal, strong woman who was indeed the pillar and "Queen" of the family. Family meant everything to Betty. She raised four generations: her siblings, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty received Christ and was Mother of Community Holy Temple #2. She had a heart for helping others. She was very giving and would feed any and everybody including animals. She would often say, "They are God's creatures and they need to eat too." Betty believed in doing right by others no matter how she was treated in return. Her main focus was for EVERYBODY to receive soul salvation. No matter who she spoke to, her goal was to introduce them to Christ and save the soul. In her later years, Betty became part of the Grandparent Program at Wheatley Elementary School for approximately three years. She was very fond of the children she helped and would often talk about them when she came home. Mother Betty Jean Dubose was preceded in death by her father: John H. Dubose; mother: Ethel P. Dubose; son: Marcus Dubose; daughter: Tequilla Crenshaw; brothers: Alphonso Dubose and John L. Dubose; and sisters: Tara Dubose and Rose Dubose. Left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted children, son: John L. Dubose (Regina) of Apopka, Florida; daughters: Sharica Bradford (Willie) and Latoya Davis, both of Apopka, Florida; siblings: Charles Dubose (Dotsey) of Tuskegee, Alabama, Clara Saffold (Richard) of Apopka, Florida, Chester Dubose (Diane) of Apopka, Florida, Jennell Dubose-Vickers (Charles) and Ricky Dubose both of Orlando, Florida, Debbie "Debra" Dubose, Ester Lean Dubose, Rebecca Hardwick and Montrina Moody, all of Apopka, Florida; grandchildren: Brittany Williams, Jeremiah Dubose, Janiqua Dubose, Sharyeia Bradford, Tyrone Lettsome, Shequila Hicks, Jakirth Nisbett, Sharica Bradford, John Dubose, Jr., and Oscar Crenshaw, all of Apopka, Florida; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
