Alton was the son of Alton Brinson and Virginia Jackson. He grew up in a tight-knit community where he became known to many as “Shorty J”. Alton attended Maxey Elementary and Ocoee Middle Schools. During his attendance he played little league baseball and pop warner football. Alton had a passion for detailing cars, a craft he took pride in for over 15 years. His keen eye for detail and dedication to his work brought joy to many. Alton loved his children and grandchildren. He found great joy in taking the little ones to the park and walks to the store for treats. Shorty J enjoyed playing cards and lively parties. His infectious energy and love for these gatherings created wonderful memories for friends and family alike, and he will be forever remembered by his favorite saying “Let Me Hold Something”. He was preceded in death by his parents Alton Brinson and Virginia Jackson; as well as siblings, James Jackson, Bernard Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Virginia Battle and Myra Brinson; a loving and devoted friend, Victoria Battle. Left to cherish his memory: Daughter, Ta’Kenya Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida; Bonus Children, Tamara Cody, Donald Harris, Albert Byfield Jr., Lashantarian Shannon, Tacara Quinn and Adrian Quinn Jr. all of Orlando, Florida; Siblings: Betty Brown, Terry Jackson (Darlene), both of Winter Garden, Florida, Sidney Jackson (Vontrese) of Los Angeles, California, Charlena Goodson, Angela Rhodes (Clement), Rhodesha Moore and Alvin Brinson (Lena) all of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren: Ma’Kilah Thomas, Mar’Lajah Thomas both of Tallahassee, Florida; Twenty-Four Bonus Grandchildren. Special Nephews: Tyrone Battle, La’Derius Jackson, Jermaine Goodson;Special Nieces: Lynne Gordon, Tracy Battle, Valorie Porter; Special Friends: Eddie “James Duke” Windom, Louis Hunt, Terrell Blair Sr and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
